Goody Two Shoes is where boys don’t cry and girls just wanna have fun!

If you've ever lulled your baby to sleep with The Smiths, danced your toddler
around the living room to The Ramones, or had a car-ride sing-a-long to The Go-Go's to keep the kids from
fighting in the backseat, then your ultimate dance party has arrived!

Inspired by all the '80s retro parties happening around the city, Jenn Cohen-Vigder, party creator and Brooklyn
mom of two toddlers, wanted a way to join the fun without leaving the kids at home. So, she enlisted the help of
long time friend and cohort, Christin Grech, and New York's "New Wave" in family dance parties was born!

Goody Two Shoes features live DJs spinning a family friendly mix of all your favorite New Wave, Alternative '80s,
Classic Punk and Ska hits.

Parents, babies and big kids alike are invited to dance
( "..if you want to" ) 'til dusk and enjoy 'punk rock playtime'
with '80s inspired toys and DIY projects for all ages.
Snacks reminiscent of the era that started off punk
and turned new wave will also be provided.

Jenn Cohen-Vigder grew up on Long Island, where she kept her radio
permanently tuned to WLIR (later WDRE) to satisfy her need for all things new
wave and alternative. She spent her teenage years at punk shows, and after
starting college joined Riot Grrrl NYC where she fortuitously met Christin
Grech. For years, Jenn and Christin organized concerts, parties, and
workshops together.

Once Jenn graduated from NYU, she went on to law school. During this time
she met a charming MBA student named Sivan, who shared Jenn’s love of
new wave and alternative music. For the wedding that followed shortly
thereafter, they had the band learn to play INXS’s “Never Tear Us Apart”.

After Jenn and Sivan had their two super-fabulous rock star kids, Max (age 4)
and Talia (age 2), Sivan ditched the world of “grownup” business and began
teaching the
Music for Aardvarks program. (Incidentally, Max and Talia think
that going to work is synonymous with going to music class. Apparently, Jenn’
s being a lawyer has made less of an impression.)

Looking to get in on the fun, Jenn started producing toddler parties in
Brooklyn. It was then that she cultivated the idea of “Goody Two Shoes,” an
event that would combine her favorite music with her favorite pastime: partying
with her kids.

Jenn and Christin reunited to join their talents for what promises to be the
best “all ages” party in town. Guided mostly by their shared obsession for
great 80’s music, they also tuned into their punk rock sensibilities in
developing awesome party playtime activities.

Jenn hopes that when her kids see the party she’s produced they’ll
understand that there’s more to working than just playing guitar with a bunch
of kids: some of us have to party for a living.

Christin Grech is a secretary from nine to five and a jill-of-all-trades-
photographer-artist-crafter most of the rest of the time.

At the tender age of six, after discovering the magic and endless
possibilities of a spinning turntable, she and her kid sister Alison (then age
4), promptly destroyed their parents LP collection.  Hours were danced away
while the records were scattered across the living room floor, creating a
vinyl bridge across swampland, quicksand and molten lava (wall-to-wall
carpet to those with no imagination).

In the years to follow Christin spent her days soaking up pop culture and her
nights under the covers with an ear firmly pressed against her pink
cassette player.  When she was a teenager, a second little sister (Catie)
was born, giving Christin the chance to play "mommy” and delve back into
the early part of her childhood.  She embraced her role as “big sis” by
introducing “the baby” to all the toys and games she enjoyed when she was
little.

Christin has a strong love for nostalgia and DIY aesthetic that shines
through in everything she does.  She lives with her family (including many
pets) in Forest Hills, NY (hometown of The Ramones) and already has
several song requests in for the Goody Two Shoes Premiere, among them:
The Psychedelic Furs’ “ Pretty in Pink” and David Bowie's "Let's Dance".
